Mari Oxenberg, RN

Mari Oxenberg, RN, is the instructor and narrator of Birthwell Yoga. A graduate of Pine Manor College in Boston with a BA in Art History, Mari received a nursing degree from Florida Keys Community College in 2001, with a specialty in labor and delivery. She is a certified prenatal yoga instructor, trained at the Integral Yoga Institute in Virginia, and has enjoyed instructing prenatal yoga classes for many years. She is also an Aqua-Natal instructor, having received her certification from the Co-Madres Institute which was founded by Marina Alzugaray MS, licensed midwife, educator, and wise woman. For four years, Mari worked the night shift as a labor and delivery nurse at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington Massachusetts, and is experienced in maternity, postpartum and newborn nursery care. She is presently licensed in California. For the last twelve years, Mari has also been a homebirth midwife’s assistant and a birth Doula. She is a certified level 1 and 2 Reiki practitioner and utilizes this energy work with all of her clients. Currently, Mari resides in Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles, California. She has established her own Doula business, “Birthwell Los Angeles: Birth and Postpartum Doula Service”. She also works as a postpartum Doula for the Chapman Family Center in Santa Monica. Mari teaches her yoga class at Yo Mama Yoga in Santa Monica. Mari will begin her training for a masters in Nurse Midwifery this spring through the Philadelphia University long distance Midwifery education program.
