CranioSacral Therapy for Mom and Baby
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle form of compassionate touch that is soothing for both Mom and baby before, during, and immediately following the birth process.
CranioSacral work addresses restrictions in the craniosacral system – the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. As this system directly impacts the central nervous system, CranioSacral Therapy helps the body release the effects of stress naturally and restores balance, thereby limiting any sensory, motor or neurological imbalances that may be present. Carried out in the delivery room or within the first days of life, CranioSacral Therapy can potentially reduce a wide variety of difficulties, many of which may not become apparent until your child is in school. Often suckling or colic problems can be relieved with just a few sessions.
For Mom this gentle therapy helps with the enormous shifts and changes that take place during pregnancy and following the birth. This can be a challenging time and aligning the craniosacral system can assist the body adjust and restore quickly and naturally, helping Mom to have a greater sense of wellbeing.
Claire works with both Mom and baby individually, and finishes the sessions with Mom and baby together, which is often a beautiful time of stillness and rest for both.

Ayurvedic Postpartum Massage
Kat has been specializing in ayurvedic postpartum massage since 2004.
She found her calling at a very young age when she gave her dad neck and shoulder massages to relieve his headaches. In 1996, she decided to make massage therapy a career, studying Swedish Esalen massage at the Windwalk Institute in Berkeley.
She soon began studying shiatsu and acupressure at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley. She apprenticed with Misha Cohen, LAc at the Quan Yin Healing Arts Center in San Francisco. Her foundational style is highly intuitive, blending the penetration and restorative features of deep tissue work with the relaxation and rejuvenation of Swedish massage.
Katʼs interest in womenʼs health lead her to Susan Claypool of Renaissance Midwifery where she began her studies in pre and perinatal massage in 1999. She trained with Joanne Poole in AyerDoula MotherBaby massage in 2004. Kat shares this, “It is so important to mother the mothers. The focus of this work is what women give to their babies: it is soft, soothing and compassionate, gently guiding a womanʼs body and psyche to the profound reset needed after childbirth.”
The ayurvedic postpartum massage gently honors, rests, and awakens the motherʼs body and:
• calms the nervous system • opens body channels/meridians • aids digestion • encourages lymphatic drainage • promotes endocrine balancing • aids sleep
Kat uses only the highest quality of organic sesame oil with no unnatural additives. You can be assured that your choice of a beautifully scented, or fragrance-free massage, will sooth your body and replenish your spirit.
