WishGarden Herbs was started in Boulder, Colorado in 1979 by Barbara Wishengrad, a local midwife. Her purpose was to provide herbal formulas for her pregnant and birthing clients. Every product was made by hand, then bottled and labeled in a small kitchen. Not much has changed in the making of their products. The formulas are still hand-crafted from beginning to end.
As traditionalists, WishGarden prepares their medicine in small batches, apothecarial style, using only wild harvested and organically grown herbs with very few exceptions. Many of the botanicals used in their formulas have been grown on high altitude organic farms or gathered sustainably the beautiful Rocky Mountains. WishGarden is pleased to support small organic farmers in their region and strives to locally source as many of their herbs as possible.
WishGarden Herbs’ Signature Pregnancy and Lactation Line of Herbal Remedies are loved by Birthwell’s midwives and clients. Pregnancy, childbirth and lactation are a very special time in any woman’s life. Gentleness and safety are of utmost importance for the health of the mother and developing new one.
WishGarden Herbs is continually staying abreast of research regarding herbs and safety. These formulas were developed by midwives and experts of pregnant, birthing and lactating mothers. Their safety and efficacy have been time honored and tested for the past 25 years.
