April was brand new to the neighborhood of Topanga, CA when her neighbor, Mari, swept her up to become a part of the Birthwell L.A. team. Since then, she has jumped on board and fallen in love with its philosophy as well as the women who lead this beautiful mission. As a passionate psychology student, April is amazed by the empowerment women gain through education, support, and friendship.

Fortunately, some insurance companies are reimbursing for homebirth and doula services. We are partnered with a wonderful billing service called Larson Billing Service.
Register for Verification of Benefits ($15 ) on their website and their fabulous staff will take care of the rest. They will investigate what is covered and who covers what. We believe it's Important to keep the requests flowing even if they are denied at first, so the companies will see what services families require to be covered.
